Was launch control used in this run or not? To me, looks like a relatively slow launch but I could be wrong.

Yep - we used launch. Problem with launch is you step off the brake & there is still a small delay.

Also Halidex AWD isnt always 80% Throttle to the rear wheels. It has electronic differentials that are "set" to a 40/60 split rear/front, but its a little revised for the R. In perfect ESP conditions 100% of tq could go to rear wheels as a matter of fact. Like I said in America the R only comes in 6 speed. A gti with a good launch and DSG will pull on a R up to higher speed until the R's k04 starts to really flex.

The only vws coming with k04 turbos stock are R's, GTI's. They are supposed to have a GTI coming out that has a vw factory sport tune with a few minor extras that will have like 20 more hp than a normal GTI. I would expect you to keep up with a car that has the same motor? when i said it comes with a k04 i was referring the the R. GTIs only are produced with k03s. Dont be too excited for big R updates either, they arent selling and the GTD is supposed to be coming to America soon.

Stupid mobile youtube.... Anyways plus i think awd is better. Screw the weight. 80 percent throttle applied to the rear wheels is worth it. Im all about getting a golf r. 2014 are supposed to compete w sti stock....finally. Also i keep up with mk6 in my 09 tsi. Only dsgs pull cuz im a manual. So we can both pull on fsi's amigo...

To reply: the 09 tsi has a ko3 in america. Newer ones yeah they have ko4 which is awesome.

and in NO way am I saying FWD is better than AWD, but stock for stock, the golf R with its 6 speed against a mk6 WITH DSG or maybe even an FSI mk5 (dont quote me on the mk5 part) is quicker. Lots of tests done to show it, just the added weight from the awd... but hey if you can afford a golf R... i doubt youre keeping it stock anyways.
