Nice mark III you have sitting there, one of the best radios of all time....and the Tram D201-A as well. I have a Madison myself, really nice one owner radio with zero mods. Not the greatest on AM but outstanding on SSB,which is where i use mine most of the time.

@worldwide390 listin the channel 9 button was put there so in a emergency instead of takeing up valuable time searching for the channel 9 on the channel slecter in a life or death all u had to do is push the button it was not a waste or put there for a lazy person channel 9 is only to be use for emergency but even thoe some peaple miss use it emergency is what it was ment for and u dont have to have a ham license to opperate a cb only base
I use a couple of Optimus Pro speakers from Radio Shack, they sound great.
The channel 9 switch is good for a mod switch, no hole drilled.
You have a transition radio, most Uniden Madisons have the digital clock.
They used the parts they had until they ran out then made the change.
Does it have the MB8719 PLL and a 5 pin mic?

Look people, "In MY OPINION " It is not necessary that CB Radios NEED to have a CH9 Button / switch period. Channel 9 is on all CB Radios, its on the dial between Channels 8 and 10, real easy to find. not hidden in some menu or needing a mod to get to. I don't disagree about the use and history of 9.
ONE MORE TIME, IN MY OPINION A CH9 BUTTON WAS AND IS NOT NEEDED.
