We never had Contra in Europe until the first PSX version. Instead, we got Probotector from early NES to late Megadrive titles of the series. This is the first level of Super Probotector (Contra 3)...

I like Probotector more cause it makes it unique in terms of theme, I mean, c'mon robots killing aliens in a humanoid like manner, that is something you don't see every day in games.

I remember playing this as a kid and the turtle boss used to scare me XD I used to love playing it but I kept checking the walls in case giant turtles was diving through the walls, then again I was about 1 n half

I prefer the robots to the testosterony movie rip-offs of Contra, and I wish they included Probotector in Contra: Rebirth.

Probotector FTW, with his cute bunny ears =P.

Guys! We really need some games like this one. Still on 2d but better graphics +4 players at same time and tons of enemies on screen ... It would be so popular.

It's two different versions, both runs the same smoothly through the game, it's just that i like the european one better :3

Oh, okay. I prefer the NTSC version because it's more inspired by the movie Aliens.
