What a great guy,and ambassador for Nascar.Met and talked with him at Michigan,in 95,wearing those black shoes,and as humble as ever.To me just one of those guys,that did not want to get involved,in the high dollar side of racing.Just liked it how it was.Was befriended by Dale Earndhart,and never took advantage of that.Should be in the Hall of fame,soon.Just sayin.

When I was 10 years old, I wrote Dave Marcis a letter and asked if I could visit his shop, he wrote me back and and let me and my parents visit his shop, I got to sit in his race car and just hang out for a while. Dave made a huge impression on me as a young kid and is without a doubt one of the classiest men ever in Nascar!
