Born in Beltz, Bessarabia in 1887, Isa (Iza) Kremer, was known as an international balladist. She was a gifted singer who performed all over Europe and in the United States; sang in Russian as well as many other languages and is credited as being the First to bring Yiddish song to the concert stage. Her life and career are covered in a Documentary Film directed by Nina Feinberg "Isa Kremer: The People's Diva", 2000.
Died in Cordoba, Argentina, 1956.

Here - Isa Kremer sings in her passionate style great Russian romance "Shine, shine my star !", known also from many other interpretations of most distinguished Russian artists and sung throughout years.

  • Przyjemność po mojej stronie ale jestem teraz w "żydowskich sprawach", ten romans to przypadek niejako. Ponieważ mnie ta interpretacja nie zachwyca to chcę jeszcze dziś dać tu inną. Jak znajdę. Na stare ruskie rzeczy - przyjdzie czas, na pewno, ale osobno. Pozdrawiam.

  • Very passionate, truly impressive interpretation; vocal colors are incredibly rich and diverse.

  • However, I was completely astonished by this "strong tone" when I heard it for the first time; I know at least 12 interpretations of this romance, none is sung that way; passion yes, but more modulations and more delicacy - in between.

  • A beautiful song. Very emotional singing, and she uses her voice so skillfully!

  • Russian romance is something special for me and I know that I will come back to that "genre" one day. Roots - in a way...:-)
