No, they do have the rights to both The Hobbit and LotR.

By what i understood from early news of the game,was they couldn't get the rights to the hobbit stuff only the lord of the rings trilogy

Oops. Sorry about that. Turbine was the distributer of the Collector's Edition, not regular.

Actually, Codemasters is the distributor for the EU, not Turbine.

OK, I got some information about it: It's called The Lord of the Rings Online: The Shadows of Angmar. The release date was 4-27-2007 for both US and Europe. Midway was the distributer in the US and Turbine for Europe. There was also a collector's edition released on the same day. The system requirements are Windows XP/Vista running at 56kbps on Broadband DSL/Cable.
