PS3 and PS3 Slim - Backup Harddrive

how to make a backup of your PS3 / PS3 Slim harddrive. Including Trophies, Games Saves, DLC, Data, Media.

To Backup Trophies, just go to Trophies via the XMB - Game, and then hit Triangle and Sync to Server. Once your on your new PS3, login and go back to Trophies and it will sync the first time (took quite a few mins for me) and all trophies will be back! this is on firmware 3.40

@feterfeter1 you will want to sync your trophies prior to removing harddrive. do that by going to Trophies > Sync to Server. your DLC can be redownoaded via XMB > PSN > Account Management > Download List

Question: If my PS3 has been tampered with before (I had the laser replaced), meaning the warranty sticker is removed, will Sony still exchange it for a slim?

IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIVE!! God bless u, man! I thought I was gonna have to start Mass Effect 2 all over again! As a follow up, I put a cooling fan behind the PS# the help it stay cool and hopefully it'll last me long enough to save up for a slim. Thanks again!

when I try to type in fat32format :E in cmd

it says:

" ' fat32format ' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file "

Can you tell me what I can do? I have a 250GB external drive.
