Stop making gyros with such a good knife. I was cringing at the grinding wheel.
-
@litematter I couldn't of said it better!

you don't have to keep the convex edge if you don't want. Its not a holy relic its a tool so get over yourselves. yes sharpening it on a grinder may ruin the temper but who cares it take seconds to get an edge. Its his money, his knife and atleast hes using it as a tool instead babying it like its your only prized possession that you may use someday camping if you ever get off your fatasses

this guy should NEVER buy a blade again

killed the convex edge. just dull metal now.

Omg every deli drop wat ur doing and go buy that knife it can cut bone because that's the only place that needs to do that
-
@themerrygambit in my own time in the military not once did i require a knife to be able to cut bone. if, under the awful situation that you would need to fight with your knife you do not need to chop through bone. you need it to be capable of stabbing and slashing, which this knife could easily do. in a survival situation im not sure why you would ever carve or cut bone, especially when there is generally wood, which large mammals are usually found near anyway.
-
@mintyvision because this is a Combat Survival knife issued to the Swedish military. It needs to be able to stab through rib cages, flesh & bone if necessary in combat. As a survival knife it needs to be able to chop effectively and one of those tasks might be carving or chopping bone as when butchering a deer in the field. This guy is simply showing how he reground the edge in such a way so that it was a little more durable. If you could understand him his advice this would be very valuable

@themerrygambit why should it be able to chop through bone? meat cleavers are a specialist knife designed to chop through bone, and the reason for their existence is that knives like the one in the video are not designed for chopping bone. im familiar with the destruction tests, but with those video's the clue is in the name. those activities are designed specifically to damage and destroy them. a such you should not expect a knife to cut bone, concrete or metal on a regular basis.
get a meat cleaver, man...

haha, what a terrible movie.
1: like the other users said: not an f1
2: he's ruining the convex bevel and putting a hollow ground on it with his wheel
3: he's heating up the steel with his wheel and very likely destroyed the tempering
