@yohannbiimu Actually his stats show he isn't a good fielder. I told you, he COST the Tigers runs. Look at his UZR. He hasn't had a good year with the glove since 2006. Once more you show how little you know about the game of baseball. How can you say that he is a superior fielder when he only saved the Tigers 1.8 runs last year? I thought that is what he did best? WRONG AGAIN. Look at Brett Gardner. He had a UZR/150 (that means his UZR of 150 games) of 27.8. That is a superior fielder.

Inge's stats throughout his career show that he's a superior fielder. The only Tigers thirdbaseman who comes close to him in my lifetime is Aurelio Rodreguez, and he couldn't hit as well as Inge. The only one who was superior overall was Travis Fryman, and he was essentially given away by Randy Smith. You are pissing in the wind with your bloviating.

@yohannbiimu So I haven't heard anything back from you in a long time. Remember how you talk about how many runs Inge "saves" and hits? Are you familiar with that stat UZR? Just in case you aren't; UZR is a stat that measures how well you field you zone. Unlike fielding percentage, if a ball gets hit through your zone, which could be a ball that counts as a run or a hit, it gets counted against you. Now this describes what you said that Inge does well perfectly. Guess what Inge's UZR is???

@JustinVerlander35 Fielding percentage is as poor a metric in figuring fielding prowess as batting average is in figuring batting prowess. Like I said above, if you'd prefer having a guy with a spotless FLD%, but allows doubles and triples to get past him, then you're going to have someone who isn't going to have his job for long. The Tigers are constantly TRYING to replace Inge, but they inevitably go back to him, because he's a damn good fielder. Those are facts. Live with it.

2005: 530 Chances, 23 Errors, .957 FLD%

2006: 555 Chances, 22 Errors, .960 FLD%

2007: 434 Chances, 18 Errors, .959 FLD%

Those three years right there prove you wrong and shows you he isn't a good FIELDING 3B.

@yohannbiimu If I was a decision maker he would of been gone years ago. I wouldn't of brought him back up from AAA this year. A guy who was batting .177 before getting sent down would of been cut off a team I run. A guy that strikes out over a 120 times a year and is a career .235 hitter, would of been off my team a long time ago. They keep him around because he is a fan fan favorite and keeps asses in the seats. Nothing more than that.
