Listen to Alan Woods speak at a recent meeting of the Socialist Appeal. "...what capitalism shows us is the enormous potential that exists in our hands. In the first decade of the 21st century you can say for the first time in history all the fundamental problems that we face can be solved now, today. For example for the first time in history it is possible to say there is no need for anyone to starve in this world. There is plenty of possibility to produce food for everybody. As a matter of fact if you check the records for the last 30 or 40 years in Europe and the United States they have been destroying food in huge quantities in order to keep the prices artificially high for the capitalist farmers."

  • @somor98 But accumulation doesn't help anyone else, how is that beneficial to the rest of the society?

  • Capitalism is simply accomulation of wealth. It is independent of oppression and socialism. Capitalism has always existed. In fact, even a spider can be said to accumulate wealth.

  • Capitalism and Socialism are the exact same thing. They are civilization. Civilization is the domestication of man. The whole Capitalism vs Socialism thing is a false dichotomy. What this man is doing by championing left politics is securing his position within civilization by justifying the particular part of civilization which upholds his social position. Socialism does not equal tribal ways, socialism has always been about taking away folk ways.

  • I don’t want to be too critical, but if mankind exist for 100.000 years as is stated here, and the Neolithic revolution happened 12.000 years ago, then class society existed for 2 hours on a 24 hour time clock, not 5 or 3 minutes. If, on the other hand, class society exists for 3 minutes, then humans are on this planet for 5,76 million years on the planet. So, what is it?

  • FOLLOW ME COMRADE!!!! TO THE EMPTY FOOD STORE!!!!

  • @ArcaneDemesne I agree with you that communism can be associated with exploitation, but capitalism is not. The real definition of capitalism does not involve exploitation so if it is exploitation, then it's not capitalism.

  • free markets != capitalism. Also, capitalism != exploitation. It creates the means for exploitation, but so does communism. It also does not require money. This video is propaganda.

    Agora, Action. Anarchy.

  • The recording is quite..... Turn it up so i can hear if you want me to listen,
