And Yoko kind of insisted that John had to have full credit for the name (in "The Beatles Anthology"). She believed he had a vision. And it's still left us with sort of a bad taste in our mouths

I personally feel that this origin makes more sense because if you look at the earliest "Hamburg era" photo's of the Beatles, (with pete best and stu sutcliff) and before the "Brian Epstien's "Clean" Beatles, they are all dressed in black leather biker jackets and boots, with denim jeans, all of which confirms my belief that this is in fact the most likely origin of their name. Even George Harrison concurrs with the account below
