@matthe3234 I think the BBC continues to bring us great shows, it's just the type of show has changed. What about Sherlock, Great Expectations, Life On Mars/Ashes to Ashes, Frozen Planet, Hustle and Later With Jools Holland? Or comedies like Have I Got News For You or Would I Lie To You? It's ITV and channel 5 that lowers the level of class!!

Vic and Bob are far more surreal- Morecambe and Wise were essentially from the music hall tradition, Vic and Bob are a lot more influenced by the Goons and their descendants, both Oxbridge (Python, Cook) and non-Oxbridge (Benny Hill, the 1980's "alternatives").
