20 years of playing with swords does not equate to real experience. Based on what I've seen so far I doubt this guy has had much formal training.

@XEziOXxx if he had real experience he would know a broadsword is a completely ddifferent weapon, what we generally see used with shields are arming swords and the longer 2 handed swords are longswords

Large shields were not usually used with that type of armor. It was good enough that the protection that a shield offered was rendered irrelevant to a large extent and its openings were small enough that it was more advantageous to have the power and control of a two handed weapon, or the advantage of a secondary "can opener" (like a war hammer), specialized to break armor.

Can everyone keep in mind this is not a Uni master’s degree project with the aim of impressing a historical expert, but a TV program aiming to show the audience some features of the warfare of the middle ages, and be entertaining.
