I want to get a present for my dad. Is there any camera you can recomend. He is a avid camera man and has always taken pictures.

Your dad is super lucky to have someone like you. That is so nice of you. Okay -not knowing what he already has, a nice cam would be the A500L. This is the Alpha 500 cam body & 18-55mm DT zoom lens. Right now it's about $800 (excl tax) shipped on Sony Style - w/that maybe a flash like HVL-F20AM ($130 excl tax) which is a solid external flash that offers bounce flash for shadowless indirect lighting. Although it looks like a good enough camera. I'm biased and would rather stick with Canon or Nikon. D; Maybe one day I shall go out of my comfort zone. Hm. Oh well.
