not that gays are ridiculous...that is their individual choice...ridiculous by the fact that we are looking to government to say "okay...you are married now"...retarded...marriage is between two people, or more if they want it that way...government has offered tax breaks in order to overtake the marriage trust and thus, inserted more laws and regulations for us in a "Free" nation to live by...
Everyone keeps voting pro-government people in, then complain when they want to run their lives.

I was answering your question about Executive Order and what Obama can do...he cannot, nor can Congress, grant any specific "Rights" to anyone or anything...
Now, yes...the Governments duty is to treat each Individual equally, if it is not performing as such, vote accordingly because we know noone will be impeached...
Just goes to show you how off base our Gvoernment is, since conception, that we actually need a 14th Amendment...
This is the same arguement as "Gay Rights"...ridiculous
You have equal Rights...every human has equal Rights...
government cannot provide your Rights, they come from humanity.
In other words, he cannot do jack shit (just as he has been doing) for gays, blacks, women, frogs, aliens in the military when it comes to Rights.
He can, however, grant you more priveledges (as he has been doing - see bailouts) than other groups of people...albiet, completely worng and completely against American values; but, so is he.
next question...

@helltrackrider I understand the semantics argument about Rights and such even though I think you introduce other semantic inconsistencies while trying to be absolutely correct about Rights vs Privileges.
You are, however, wrong on the bailouts. Obama did not grant any bailouts, nor did Bush who was in Office when the first bailout happened. The Bailouts were performed by Congress.

were they performed by Congress?
I could have swore that the Executive Branch signs into Law Congress's Legislation...unless, of course, the Executive Branch wants to take the tyrannical route of "Executive Orders" and thus bypassing Congress Unconstitutionally.
Rights and Priveledges: 99% of American population cannot distinguish between the 2 and 99% of America has no clue what Governments true role is in a Free, Liberty loving Nation...todays government is not acting this role.

Without Congress, Obama has no power to provide anything like a Bailout. However, Congress CAN do it without Obama because if he simply remains inactive for 10 days the law gets executed by default. So yes, it was an act of Congress... and since you seemed to miss this part. What month was the bailout passed?

If you really want to follow this semantic argument, I will... but it's a silly one to have:
Rights vs Privileges: The 14th Amendment provides equal protection under the Law. It gives us the right of equal protection under the law for our privileges. So, when the government is discriminating and denying privileges to one class of people they are losing their RIGHT to equal protection under the Law. Do you see why the semantics here of rights vs privileges isn't really that important?
