Great job, I love this song. Could you please hint at the chords? I've figured out most of them but still can't get it quite right.

Beautiful song, thank you for this version.

have you ever tried to do 'the drowned girl'?
if you have (or if you know the chords - i have never been able to figure them out) let me know

can anyone help me understand this poem please? this poem makes a powerful impact on me but i intellectually, i can't seem to piece together the "why" of why he remembers the cloud and not the romance.
again, something about that idea resonates with me, but i can't express to myself what it is and i'm dying to figure this one out. What is the phenomenon Brecht was dealing with?
please someone respond if you have input

I remember seeing Bowie playing "baal" on the BBC when I was a young man, and being totally blown-away by the play, the player, and the music. Great to see that others have the same appreciation. Lovely version of a fantastic song!

Very nice version! Great choice too. Baal -ep is great.
Great job! You give us a lovely, lyrical rendition of Brecht's poem (performed in callous character by the great David Bowie in the BBC version of Brecht's play 'Baal').
I first heard the poem (in German) while watching the awesome film 'The Lives of Others' ('Das Leben der Anderen'), a 2007 Oscar winner. Powerful film, highly recommended! The poem marks a turning point in the main character's life.
Your rendition expresses that same feeling of awe and sadness. Thank you, thank you !!!

Many thanks for your comment - much appreciated. You're right about Bowie's performance in the BBC play - he's almost sneering as he sings. But on the 'Baal' EP he performs it beautifully. It's possibly his very best vocal performance. And 'The Lives Of Others' is now on my list of films to watch!

Thank you for that! It was an odd choice... I'll probably stick to songs from the 20th and 21st centuries from now on!
