Ibanez Tube Screamer Shoot-Out : TS808, TS9, TS9DX 30 Pedals in 30 Days #13 Winter NAMM 2011 '11

Don't forget, in celebration of 30 Pedals in 30 Days, you can opt-in to win a Line 6 Stompbox Modeler : http://thetoneking.com/wp/gear-give-away/dec10-line6-m13/

Lastly ... if the Tube Screamers are too much $$, try this Pedal Cross Comparison Chart : All in 1 Modeling Unit, which contains the Ibanez Pedals :

  • Ha! Wouldn't have taken the piss if I knew it was your catch-phrase =) I've subbed, thanks for the good TS9 comparisons. Looking to push my tube amp a bit further and reckon the TS9 is a good place to start. Thanks again.

  • @jigmesam nice. I guess it only takes a few videos to figure it out, huh? BTW - Ill share w/ you a funny story. For a short period of time - I stopped doing it - and everyone asked where my intro went? I guess it wouldn't be me, if I didn't do my intro :-). Anyway - always appreciate the dialogue! Have a great weekend!

  • Which would you recommend to run in front of an Orange Rockerverb?

  • @leandrotorreal Wouldnt that mean you would want an original ts-808 haha

  • @lehrgangswerk He was contrasting the sounds of three different pedals, not performing to impress random trolls; the simplicity and consistency of his playing were entirely appropriate for this purpose.

  • Definitely the TS9. It sounded a little more crispier.

  • TS808 is the nicest, and i'd say grab the TS9DX as a second flavor to have two pedals with a broad variety of character. i'd skip on the TS9 itself. i already own a TS808, so i guess i need a DX now!

  • Hey guys, i am fixing to buy a Twin Reverb, which as you know, has no dirty channel. and i'm looking for a good crunch pedal. would the TS 808 sound good if it was used as a crunch channel and then i threw a Boss OD-3 on it for like choruses and solos. I can't test this out because in my city, the guitar shops don't have the TS 808 on hand

  • The TS 808 is sweeter but with less output I would say, the TS9 has more output but it's more harsh to my ears.

  • TS9DX WINS .........GUY'S CHECK OUT MY PROFILE PIC PEDAL BOARD ....I USE THE DX IT MAKES THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING SHAKE........ROCK ON

  • If u have a solid state just throw it in the trash where it goes.

  • If th guy could play guitar we had probably a benefit of this comparison

  • @tatoo190 well i know that many people who play metal use tubescreamers on the overdrive channel as a clean boost, but i think they are simulating the breakup of tube amps
