The Sundaland clouded leopard, a recently described new species of big cat, has been caught on camera. FULL-LENGTH (HD) FOOTAGE courtesy of A Wilting/A Mohamed/Cat News.

It is the very first video footage of the newly discovered Borneo Clouded Leopard from Asia.

The film, the first footage of the cat in the wild to be made public, has been released by scientists working in the Dermakot Forest Reserve in Malaysia.

  • Don't want to be too critical, but the taxon "Felis" diardi has been known since 1843!

  • @camille1845 True, but it was thought to be a subspecies of the mainland clouded leopard until it was designated as a genetically distinct species in 2007 :)

  • @realbirder It's not a subspecies, it's a genetically distinct species there are many differences between the Sunda Borneo/sumatra species and the other Asian mainland species. No bullshitting going on here, unless you are referring to habitual jumping of the gun...

  • @ticklesitter what do you mean "welcome to Earth",it isn't from another planet.

  • @NBGfilms Thats not the first or best footage of that subspecies either. A taxonomic reassignment is not a "newly discovered species". I'm one of hundreds of people who'd seen this prior to this supposedly revelatory discovery and a lucky few have captured it on film since the 50s. Nice footage but there's no need to bullshit people.

  • dense forrest? it looks like a road

  • Awww there so cute!!

  • beautiful

  • Fake and gay.

  • does this also mean the tasmanian tigers of australia could still be roaming around?
