STRATFOR Podcast 2.02.2009
In our 2009 forecasts, assessed by Colin Chapman, America's biggest headache will be in Afghanistan's complex issues. The United States will come out of recession sooner than its rivals, and Russia's resurgence — though real — will not last.
I don't agree the US economic problems will be resolved quickly. Those in charge do not a clue how to solve the financial problems. Their approach seems to be one of experimentation not certainty. The US is re-evalutating sending more troops to Afganistan for undisclosed reasons. I think the reasons are supply and logistics.
