I work at the Orange County Library in Florida and I can tell you the 3 absolute best things about libraries:

1: Access to infinite FREE information and entertainment via books, CDs, DVDs, videogames, internet, database, periodical, and personal sources.
2: Social interactivity with others thinkers.
3: Clean and peaceful environment open to the public.

Support your local library, show your love!

1. Best value out there for your tax dollar. For the price of 1 book, I get to read many books, listen to CDs, listen to books, and so much more
2. In smaller towns, the girls at circ know who you are and pull your reserves the minute you walk through the door.
3. Interlibrary loan--stuff from libraries you don't even support, for free or for a VERY low cost--we take this stuff for granted I think

Three Reasons I Think Librarians Are Great:
1. I can read any kind of magazine, for free, without subscribing!
2. Libraries allow you to access all the ideas and knowledge of mankind. (Google does NOT!)
3. Librarians rock!

1. Where else can I check out the music CDs I might want to buy (but I'm not sure yet)?

2. Where else can I catch up on those TV series that I don't have time to watch during the week (even though they remain the bane of existence for catalogers)?

3. Where else can I read the magazines I don't want to subscribe to (lest they begin to pile up in my house)?

1. It's just about the only place I can't be distracted when I'm doing homework
2. If I need to find a newspaper article or magazine, I don't have to buy the whole periodical because I know right where I can find it at the library
3. There's books about anything. Anything I would like to know or need help with, I can find the answers to my questions at the library.

1. Library programs, such as Teen Advisory Boards, give teenagers the opportunity to advocate for teen rights, interests, and needs, while at the same time become active members of their communities.
2. Library Web sites are portals to the world of information, providing links for online databases, RSS feeds, podcasts, downloadable audiobooks and so much more.
3. Most librarians become librarians because they truly want to help people in some way, not just to read books.

Three reason why I love my library are: 1)Anything you need to know can be learned at the library. 2) Our library sponsors programs for young and old that are both interesting and educational. Did you know that people at one time used tea as currency? 3)Learning is a lifelong experience. We experience learning at our library.
