the wasp whisperer

a short video of the wasps living in the wall of our lovely home in melbourne, australia. the footage was recorded using a videoflex camera sitting just outside the entrance to the hive.
the audio was recorded from inside our living room using a Zoom H4 recorder, and features overlapping recording of the wasps scratching, buzzing and finalling - purring!
If anyone can confirm what the purring noise is - I'd be grateful?!
