This video explains the importance of having a Podiatrist make custom orthotics for you instead of going to a Dr. Scholls center and buying prefabricated ones.

  • WE ALL KNOW THAT A PODIATRIST CAN MAKE A WAY BETTER ORTHODICE BUT SOME OF UC CAN NOT AFFORD TO PAY THE 300 TO 600 DOLLARS FOR YOUR SOLUTION. THE DR SCHOLLS IS GREAT AS OPPOSED TO SAY A PERSON WITH A HIGH ARCHE WEARING A FLAT BOTTOM SKATEBOARD SHOE

  • Sucks?? Is that a medical term?? Sounds very technical

  • what are the best orthotic's for a flat footed person

  • If a professional Orthotic was even somewhat affordable then most of us wouldn't look at other inserts that you can purchase over the counter. Most of us either A. have NO insurance, or B. our insurance company doesn't cover it. Who can afford in this economy $300-$600 for a doctor's visit and a professionally fitted orthotic insert?? The Dr. Scholl's product dose a pretty good job of mapping the foot and helping with most of the pain for a much more affordable price! Lower the cost of care .

  • what size shoe are you

  • Some ugly ass feet

  • Dose he understand that the Dr Scholls is not just gel... so what they are not perfect but its affordable and more comfortable .

  • "WE ALL KNOW THAT A PODIATRIST CAN MAKE A WAY BETTER ORTHODICE"

    Do we?

An orthotic is a bent piece of plastic. There is no magic to it. The question is not whether podiatrists give the BEST orthotic, its whether its the RIGHT orthotic.

If what you need happens to be a £15 off-the-peg then it will serve just as well regardless of who you get it from. There is no "best" orthoses. Soft ones are best for some, EVA for others and Polyprop for others. It depends whats wrong with your foot.

  • I think if you captured my STJ in that position I would probably sprain my ankle for the 9th time. I hope your gal there didn't get orthotics to control "over pronation'!
