@PKPingo You mean slamming into a barrier at 50mph might get you killed? Who knew. At that point the idea is to stop a speeding truck from violating a secure area. Like say a truck bomb.
At 50mph blowing out the trucks tires might kill the driver.

Yes it could kill someone but that isn't what it is designed for. As an access control system you would have to actively slam yourself into it.
The main idea is that it is LESS likely to result in death or serious injury than if you used solid pop up pillars or a solid pop up wall.
At lower speeds it will in fact safely stop the car vs a solid barrier.
