I enjoyed the music of Kalapana in the 70s. I've visited Mackey's grave in Hawaii Memorial Park. Nightbird Fly On is on his headstone. Mackey, May You Be Singing with the angels.

The first 2 albums were so spot on great, vocals instruments,lyrics. Mackey never lost that sing along attitude like, " whoa first beer hit the spot, you guys like hear another song??" Seems like he would sing when conditions weren't just right or his voice was a little scratchy, even if he knew it wasn't his best he would try to give it a go.

Listened to this on 8-track along with C&K driving to high school every morning in the 70's on the Big Island. Sweet!!!!!! Thanks for posting all of their best. Every tune brings back a flood of good time memories. Even though he's gone, Macky is still the 'man'.
