Darkening or lightening and image with Photoshop

Hi, it's Eric, again. And this time, my friend, Dave (or D@\/3) requested that I show him how to darken or lighten an image. Hopefully, I get the point across. I didn't know how to specifically, so bare with me. This is what I know.

OMG Blue I Love It XD if your haveing truble tell me i've donw Brightness and contrast tons of times i uesally use it on the eyes cause there too broght or too dark to show any colour it dose take some fooling around untill you getit right but once you get it down its easy ^_^ .... AND NO I"M NOT CHANGEING MY NAME TO GREEN -_-
