This is something I whipped up with GarageBand and iMovie. I took Paramore's cover of the Foo Fighters song "My Hero" and mixed in Dave Grohl's original drum track from the Foo Fighters version. I used Audacity to speed up the Paramore track to match the tempo of the drums, then I used GarageBand to mix the two tracks together and clip & move parts of the song around so they flowed smoothly. Then the slideshow was made with iMovie. Hope you like the final product!

To listen to an updated remix of this song (with added background vocals and bass guitar), head on over to my Jimmy Strummer Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/jimmystrummermusic Go to the My Band section of the page to listen to the updated remix as well as many of my wonderful covers of other songs!

PLEASE NOTE: I do not own the rights to this song. All rights reserved to Dave Grohl, Roswell Records, and Capitol Records.

  • you are a GarageBand Pro!!!

  • @milanrule1 Haha hardly! At least not with this one. I definitely got much better with GarageBand after I made this.

  • @jimmyjazz82391 hey dude, how did u sync the 2 tracks together so well? i've tried with audacity and i just cant get it right...

  • @jjkftw I didn't use Audacity to sync the two tracks together, I used GarageBand for that. I explain it all in the description, but basically, Audacity was only used to match Paramore's tempo with the tempo Dave's playing on the drums. After that, I exported the track, drag-and-dropped it into GarageBand (Paramore on one track, Dave Grohl on the other), lined them up and edited them so they matched, and then did the volume levels.

  • @silverquestvids Cool story, bro. Too bad they actually do.

  • @FloralTerrace I'm entitled to an opinion. Sorry I don't like your band and your cover of a song by a band who I think is, quite frankly, so much better than you. And what "trouble" am I causing on YouTube? What "trouble" am I causing by having an opinion and voicing it? Relax, I'm just one guy on the whole of YouTube. You think I'm a shithead? I'm not even remotely rude compared to some of the people on here.

  • @TsunamiTseries I must agree.

  • idk how to feel about this.

  • wow awsome job man brings a new light on my fav song of all time

  • @guitarist5477 Hey! Thanks for showing interest, but I think I addressed this very thing before, saying that it would just sound very strange no matter which way you edit it. If you go to my Facebook page (link in the description), I re-edited the song in a way that works, with additional bass & vocals by yours truly. But trying to use Dave's vocal to match? It would prove very strange, it wouldn't work all that well. =\

  • @jimmyjazz82391 hey man great job i was thinking of taking an isolated vocal track of dave grohl from jammit.com and using garaging band to put him in the key with williams and sinc their vocals on ur track, what do you think? or maybe you wanna do it since u put in the work for this track
