Gene Reynolds is taken to the woodshed by Walter Huston in Of Human Hearts (1938), with Beulah Bondi. The film also starred James Stewart (as Reynolds' character grown up), John Carradine, Gene Lockhart, Ann Rutherford, Guy Kibbee, Charles Coburn, Sterling Holloway. In a later scene Stewart is taken to the woodshed by John Carradine - as Abraham Lincoln - which is also posted here. After numerous child roles, Reynolds went on to direct many TV shows including Leave It To Beaver, Hogan's Heros, MASH, Lois and Clark, and Touched By An Angel.

  • The thing I find is that some are all too egger to whip their kids, and in the two cases in the last three months of a stranger beating someone elses kid is wrong its not their place to do so.

Whiping should be one of the last resorts and not the first.

Making a kid fear you is no substatute for love and teaching them right from wrong.

  • Im 11 and i get spanked by my dad

  • all i got is sound where is the picture

  • Where's the Video ? I have only Audio, the Video seems to be just black.

  • @anonmonen the trouble kids are typically inner city kids. inner city kids are typically minorities. not trying to sound racist here, but whens the last time you've ever heard of a black mama who was afraid to pull out a can of whoop ass on her kids? exactly. thus, the trouble kids are typically the one getting hit.

  • @anonmonen I don't need to bring it back, it never left!

  • @manga12 I agree with you: physical punishment should be a last resort, but it SHOULD BE a resort. Abuse is NEVER right. Punishing a child to prove a point, out of anger, or merely because the parent or adult in question is a sick, sadistic person is never right. Punshiment by spanking should not be so looked down upon, though. Ugh, I'm digging myself a hole! There's a such a fine line, but discipline today simply is not sufficient.

  • @anonmonen That only works until the kid is big enough and strong enough to defend himself. What then? Yes, usually the parent wins in that case but there have been times that wasn't the case. What do you do then?

  • oh we need too get rid paddling because there is no slavery of black people what bunch of malarkey

  • why is it only black

  • @anonmonen although I agree with you, kids arent the same as they used to be either, There is a shorter innocence period and they grow up faster and know more then they used to. Take the internet, phones, and all those information devices they constantly use and they learn about things they normally would not know. They lose innocence and in some cases morals. Kids bringing guns to school shows a lack of parental guidance and connection that is the problem that needs to be fixed. and bad teacher

  • @anonmonen I don't disagree with you there but I say parents also have the responsibility not to lose their temper when disciplining a child with a belt or so. My dad once lost his temper when spanking my brother with the belt, later when my brother was sleeping on the bed my mom came in and saw bruises on his legs where my dad had spanked him so hard.
