Hi, I wanted the video blog today about the donor area incision that is made in the back of my head. Ive been getting a lot of comments and questions asking me about it. So I thought it would be good to come down here to Hair Club Medical Group and introduce you to Amelda. Hi..

Hello.

And Amelda is going to look at my donor area and were all going to see together what it looks like because a lot of people are afraid that it is going to scar heavily or be basically just too large and if they were wanted to go with a short haircut it will be impossible to do so. My scar, Im told were going to see a moment is pencil thin, so its very, very hard to notice. So even if I didnt choose one day to go with a very short cut, I can still do that because the scar is so thin. So Amelda can you please show us what the scar looks like and describe it for me.

Well, so far it is healing fantastically.

Well, thats good news.

And its pencil thin. Its sort of like a smile.

That of course goes up from my ears then down and on the straight line, right?

Around straight to the other side. So it is healing perfectly.

And its really thin.

Pencil thin, correct.

Did you actually have any difficulty in finding it like you said you had to take a moment to even find it below my hairline?

Umhuh.in some areas it just disappears, in another areas its still healing, our body heals in different ways. And so you can see just a little, but its very pencil thin.

Well there is a question that came into me online that I wanted to ask about. First question says, people talk about how messed up is the word, how messed up the scar looks, how thick it is, is it noticeable when they want to shave their hair down? Prior to my procedure, I had seen some pictures of some scars that were terrific as the only word I can use I mean they were like I was talking about earlier, crooked, large, I mean I think if the procedure is done right and done correctly, its going to look like mine where its just pencil thin. And Amelda talked about the advantages not only from an artistic point of view, but also from a medical point of view about being able to use the area below it. Its easier to do that when the line is thin. Second question, people wondered about how it will feel after the strip is taken out. Is it going to be tight? Yes, it was tight in the beginning, today its no longer tight. Of course, right after the procedure because Ive just been operated on it, I just had an area removed from me, its going to have some time because the sutures are there, but that completely went away after the sutures were removed. It took about two months and the tightness was completely gone, it subsided. The third question, itchiness in the donor area, is there itchiness? Again, just like the second question about the tightness very similar, it did itch quite a bit in the beginning, quite a bit meaning on a daily basis, I would be itching that area, but that also has gone away, that subsided. I cant remember the last time it itched. So its the tightness and itchiness that goes away and to the scar where you can see yourself, its the incision is very, very thin, pencil thin and even so no other work thats done here, the work that Ive had it done.
