One big thing I would recommend if you have access to personal land outside your own home that could be used for cultivation you should grow some of your own food (gardens or other land), its fun, interesting (you almost become attached to your plants), healthy and good for the environment (cutting down the amount of produce you buy from shop aswell as absorbing a small amount of CO2). We have problems with food demands so why not grow your own? I'm personally starting at the end of this year.

@veganmotorcyclepilot, apart from all the things you mentioned, the meat industry is a huge drain on the economy.
When you buy a pound of beef you're paying for it twice. The most obvious is what you pay the grocer/butcher, but a chunk of your taxes go towards massive subsidies from the federal government that benefit meat producers.
The meat industry is one of the most powerful special interest lobbying groups in the country.

@Iseeit4u, humans are an all natural kind of meat and reportedly taste like pork but that doesnt mean we eat humans, right?
Just because it tasts good doesn't mean we should it it.

i think veganism is abit extreme, moderation is still the best policy i think. i'm under the belief that vegans have to eat a great deal more in order make up for the nutrients they lose from not consuming milk and meat products.

Today we know that using animals skins for fashion and flesh is so unncessary.
