The Goodfather

Joe's dad, Sebastiano Valenti migrated to Australia when he was a young boy, Joe wanted to celebrate his father's life achievements and created a moving tribute to him. "I am so proud of my dad's achievements. I wanted to let him know how he has affected my life and who I am as a person". His favourite movie is The Godfather, but to me he will always bee The Goodfather... Here's a short story I did on dad back in 2005.

Sebastiano Valenti (b.1952) migrated from the town of Solarino, Sicily to Melbourne, Australia in 1964. His father died when he was only 14 years old, from there he stopped school and started working in Gippsland picking potatoes. A few years later he would start concreting, go into partnership with his two brothers Paolo and Concetto. Married his wife Rosa in 1973, they had 4 children: Giuseppe (1975), Maurice (1977), Anthony (1979), and Anne-Marie (1985). He eventually starting his own business Sebastian Valenti Paving. 2012 will soon see him celebrate his 60th birthday. All his children are married, and now is the proud grandfather to four granddaughters. Life is good...
