do i have to have a trellis? I'm growing cucumbers now nicely but do i have to buy a trellis, do they have to grow vertically?

No, you do not need a trellis, you can let them sprawl all over the ground. If I had tons of acrage, I would let everything sprawl. I dont have alot of space, so I need to grow them vertically.

Hey John, I have a whiskey barrel I started Lemon cucumbers in. I have about 22 in there but am thinking about thinning it out but am not sure if it is necessary or how many I should thin to. I am going to be building the trellis for them in a few day but can't until I have the final set up. Thank you for these awesome videos and inspiration.

wow. 22 plants is alot. I would space them 6" apart in all directions. And yes, build a trellis!

Can zucchini's be grown in small spaces also?
LosAngeleno1959 1 year ago
no. they can not. They need minimum 3 feet x 3 feet square. They take lots of space.
