Uwindsor Defeats Guelph 3-0 Jan. 14 2012

The Lancers started out strong and only a few minutes into the game had already built a solid seven point lead over the Gryphons. Guelph struggled with returning Windsor's attacks. The Lancers had good line-up including outside hitter Kyle Williamson (Essex, ON) who helped lead the Lancers with 11 total kills. The Lancers took set one 25-14.

Guelph came into set two ready to go, and took an early lead. Guelph put enough pressure on the Lancers to stay on top for most of the set, forcing the Lancers to call multiple time-outs to regroup.

Windsor managed to hang on and the Gryphons soon found the score tied 25-25, as the intensity rose on the court. Ultimately a failed Gryphon block led to their demise; 25-27 for the Lancers.

Set three was a repeat of the first, with the Gryphons encroaching on the Lancer lead. Rosser and Whitaker continued to lead the Gryphon attack, competing with Williamson, Oake, and Adam Thompson on the other side of the court.

The Gryphons started to make a come-back in the last minutes of the game and forcing the Lancers into a time-out when the board sat at 21-24. Guelph grabbed one final point before the Lancers took the game with a Guelph service error.
