I have one of these too Aussie 50. When I got mine quite a few years ago the HV tranny was blown up. I sourced a new HV tranny for it from the Kelly Company here in Melbourne. I thought while I was at it that I would convert the lamp control gear from iron core to an electronic ballast. I think it was a worthwhile thing to do so, as it has prolonged the lamp life. Considering the circular lamp is not cheap. It's probably a little more efficient too.

Well that's what I call a proper bug zapper!
I got myself one of the cheap, modern ones the otherday, didn't do shit. The bugs got a tiny jolt, got unconcious and 5 mintues later they got up again and flew away. If they found the way into it in the first place, that is......
Needless to say I returned that piece of crap in no time.

@ELHV new zappers are really disappointing :(. not sure where to shop for one like this but if you can find a good used one its well worth buying :D. this thing carbonizes big bugs in seconds :D
