Montauk Rocks trailer

This is a trailer for a documentary film called Montauk Rocks which I am currently working on. The film has been two years in production and I am hoping to have a finished product by the summer of 2012.

Montauk Rocks is about the legions surf fishermen who migrate to the rocky shores of New Yorks easternmost point each fall in pursuit of a trophy striped bass. Montauk is the self proclaimed "Surf Fishing Capital Of The World" and attracts anglers from around the globe.
Every fall this terrestrial migration takes place, coinciding with the oceanic migration of the striped bass. Anglers come to Montauk to participate in this rite of passage from around the country, and from as far away as Europe and Japan. The competition for prime fishing spots increases every year as more and more anglers arrive on the beaches and rocks around Montauk Point hoping for their piece of the ever-diminishing fish stocks. Conflicts erupt between local and visiting anglers, between shore bound and boat anglers, and increasingly frequently, between anglers and surfers.
This is not your granddaddys fishing. No snoozing under a straw hat waiting for a perch to put a bend in the old cane pole. Every year tackle and bones are smashed in the waves and on the rocks that define the Montauk experience. Doctors are roused from their beds to remove hooks from faces, hands, and legs.
For some its a one-time deal, not something they wish to make a habit of. For others, well lets just say its not only the fish that get hooked. For everyone with a sense of adventure and a taste for pure, unfiltered, undiluted adrenalin its a must, even if only once.
This footage was shot largely on a Canon XHA1 at 24f.
