Donna Loren in a live performance of "With the Wind and the Rain in Your Hair". This Shindig TV Show aired 2-24-65 and was one of 26 Shindig shows that Ms Loren appeared on as a regular. Written by Jack Lawrence & Clara Edwards, this song was made famous by Pat Boone.

Donna Loren was the one-and-only "Dr Pepper Girl" from 1963 to 1968. She was signed to a long-term contract with the soft-drink company to sing all television and radio commercials, do all magazine and billboard advertising representing them in every capacity, sometimes sharing the spotlight with American Bandstand's Dick Clark. This relationship led to her touring in Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars with other popular acts like Diana Ross and The Supremes and singing solos in the popular Beach Party films starring Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon. Later, she became the regular female vocalist on the popular 60's American live rock n roll TV show "Shindig" and she appeared in singing and acting roles in many iconic TV shows like Batman, The Monkees, Gomer Pyle, The Mothers-In-Law, Red Skelton, Milton Berle and various game shows. She's released 22 singles, an album and 2 CD's. Ms Loren is currently in the studio again making music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ-wN37G2rs

  • I entirely agree that Donna Loren should have been better known. She had more talent than so many who became bigger stars. Fortunately, we still have her recordings [which she continues to make] available, today, on this forum, and elsewhere. Her vocal talent continues to live on through them. I'm glad she's stayed connected to her roots in music.

  • Her career should have been much bigger than beach party movies and Shindig. Donna had real talent. Her manager should be jailed for mishandling her career.

  • Love this! Thanks for sharing!

  • Look at Donna all decked out in a fur coat with sensational 60s cat eyes! She really was the Shirley Bassey of the teen set. What a talent, so great!
