Nicole's directorial debut is a reenactment of the Comanche legend that explains why bluebonnets grow in Texas. A drought disperses the buffalo and brings hunger. Spirit-Talker tells his people the drought is punishment for their greed, so they should sacrifice what they treasure most in a campfire. Shamefully, no offering is made. But, at night, a little girl offers her precious doll with its hood of blue jay feathers to the fire. Rain arrives the next day, along with bluebonnets, which return every spring. Based on the book by Michael Lind.

  • Good job! Way to go family! The buffalo was GREAT! I almost cracked a rib laughing. And the little Indian girl, like most little Indian girls, is a real cutie. Narrator and man did a fine job too. This was really nice - an American family telling an American story. Thanks for sharing, Nicole!

  • Nice job, this is what youtube was made of back in the day!

  • that was cool cute kids.more..........

  • this brings back days when bunch of us using a 8mm camera and doing shows in our back yard. Great to see whole family doing a project such as this togather. Sure you had fun doing this. 5 stars for creative and entertaining video

  • This is really cool four stars...good story...the acting is so good, I like the sweet Indian Princess who gives her favorite doll, and the last scene with the THUNDER AND LIGHTNIGHT BRINGING RAIN FOR THE BLUEBONNET FLOWERS. The narrator was very handsome and read his part well. BLUEBONNET GIRL VIEWER 224
