Images like these always remind me of pictures of the ww2 blitz, and in a lot of ways, they're similar. Thriving communities devastated. Centres of production destroyed. Both done by rightwing maniacs. Nightmare. Very moving video.

After years and tears,the government now are thinking of opening British mines again.....Wasn't Thatcher the snatcher clever.Wish I 'COULD SEE HER NEW VISION OF BRITAIN.

Many thanks for this ... my grandfather was a miner in Nantymoel, first went down the pit aged 15 to look after the ponies, turned hewer to earn more money.
