While he does a nice job on the song.... the Mira is actually a river that is in the Province of Nova Scotia, on Cape Breton Island to be exact.

Two verses, one starting "And o'er the ashes the stories are told" and one "Out on the Mira, the people are kind". Search for it online, the songwriter is Allister MacGillivray.

I don't know who this Brendan Grace character is but he's got his geography all screwed up. The Mira is not in Newfoundland. It's on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. Go south out of Sydney along highway 327 about 18 km till you reach Marion Bridge. The Mira River is just south of Marion Bridge.

Where was this filmed. Im trying to find an old tape I had of Brendan Grace. It has quite a few good songs. The version above was on the tape, along with the Dutchman, My Heart is in Ireland and a love song about a mother that dies giving birth. Can anyone help. I got the tape in Scotland in 1994 from a family I meet there.

@myrn72 This was filmed in Dublin, the concert was also put on cassette, the concert was called "Two Sides of Grace", i don't think it is on cd yet,
