First of all, we welcomed the Avetts to Atlanta with the Braves' Tomahawk Chop. :) Second, after taking a moment to discuss something with Seth, Scott comes on the mic and says, "this is for Brittany" right before playing Murder In The City. I wasn't sure what that meant until a friend clued me in and I read an article on her death. Brittany was a 26-year old woman, wife, and Avett Brothers fan living in midtown Atlanta who was killed by her apartment security guard for reasons unknown. Her funeral memorial cards read, "Always remember there was nothing worth sharing like the love that let us share our name." During the show, the Avetts got word of this by somebody throwing the memorial card down to Scott during Kick Drum Heart. I got footage of this moment here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S2NoxCqesY You can see it at about 0:58 in the video. The fact that they dedicated this song to her at the show speaks volumes about their true character.
I honestly can not get enough of this video/song/band! What an amazingly moving experience for those who knew Brittany in the audience because you knew how much it meant to them
