@metzajohn Any idea who bought the molds? I have loved these boats from the first time I saw one in the 80s. It blew by my dads Catalina 25. lol I didnt get a long look at it until I saw one at a show.

@metzajohn A minor delamination is nothing. VERY VERY easy fix. takes like 30 minutes to fix it. delam is when the fiberglass and foam layers seperate, all u gott do is inject some resin and booya. no more delam.

The tests served their purpose as hundreds of the boats were built and are still sailing. The boat did break in the 12 ft high test. A "minor delamination" is boat speak for it broke. Any higher and more stuff would break.

Hi,
You are exactly correct. The retractable keel has a rubber gasket around it and the huge amount of pressure from the drop caused water to jet around the seal. A really great boat with hundreds of examples still sailing (very fast ).

There is a company that bought the molds and are building new ones. They aren't cheap of course! Thanks for the comment.

Yes, the water came around the lifting keel gasket. Very high water pressure!!!
