  • They say psychoanalysis has such a deep view of the human being, that there is such profundity in the human individual... I don't believe that to be true at all, it is an illusion caused by our overly self-centered view of life. The only way a person can really have any kind of depth at all is when he is embedded in reality, in a social context, among other people and in contact with nature. I believe the self-orientation of psychotherapy is ultimately detrimental to self-understanding.
