Plain White T's new album 2010!

Plain White T's new album inspired by Cirque du Soleil!

Plain White Ts, the Chicago-area band best known for their hit Hey There Delilah, have decided on a name for their upcoming album -- and they have Cirque du Soleil to thank for it.

The name of the album is The Wonders of the Younger, lead singer Tom Higgenson said after performing at Harry Carays Tavern in Wrigleyville (3551 N. Sheffield) on Monday. We were in Vegas last year around Valentines Day and saw the Cirque du Soleil show O. The show had clowns, pirates and a bunch of crazy stuff and I walked out thinking Ive got a great idea for our next album.

"From that point on, my mind went wild.

Higgenson said the band has written around 50 or 60 songs and may begin recording in the next week. If all goes according to plan, the album could come out in September or October. The Wonders of the Younger will be Plain White Ts first album since 2008s Big Bad World, which featured the hit 1, 2, 3, 4.

Were trying to take a completely different approach this time around, said Higgenson, who lives in Elmhurst. Its a little more of a concept album.
