You should really consider carrying one in the chamber, I watched a video recently about the fact that you will get stabbed or shot several times before you can chamber a round, however if you have one chambered already it is possible to get a panic shot

and this stuff is practical how? Think about it, the day we enter a state of emergency, you're going to very quickly realize that you cant get anywhere because someone stole your truck, you're clean out of ammo because it can only last for so long, someone captured and ate your dog because food will be scarce, and what will you need money for? Less is best. A level head and a good pair of running shoes will be all you'll ever need Heaven forbid we see such a day.
