This interior attack crew got a scare whenever a garage door fell shut while they were trying to make an interior attack.
I don't know which is worse though the fact that a PASS device activated and nothing was done, the door was not held open once it started to close halfway and at least 2 people are looking right at it OR the white helmet that walked by.

Based on the video this was pre-ICS. That system is only about 14 years old...

@danwat1234 The thermistor is embedded in the windings of the electric motor to prevent them from burning out. The motor would have had to be in an intense fire for a very long time for the internal windings to get heated up from the outside enough to trip it. By this time the cables would have burnt away so it would have not made any difference

@ariccastro The residential openers, at least mine, they will just not engage if the motor overheats. It's won't go down or up until it trips back on after cooling down.
