Burglary is common, but is also quite preventable with these tactics.

This is a video response to How To Deter Burglars by You Tube user Howcast. I dont think they will post my response; but if you want to see their video and advice, follow this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJijRk6Krzo They have some good advice but forgot to mention the most important thing you can do to deter burglars.

  • HA! HA! Ya Buck would do the trick, but realistically Bird is better for indoor use for two reasons. 1. It turns a burglar into burger. 2. The pellets most likely won't pass through the walls so there should be no friendly fire. ;-)

"In America, if someone is invading your home, you have every right to kill him. FACT"

Actually, NO you do not!!! Try that and you'll end up in prison. In order to justify lethal force you need to show that your life or your family's life was in immediate danger and you had no other choice but to shoot. This also includes the option of running out of your house and calling for help. Your burglar better have been armed.

I know, I recently retired from the police force.

  • @CaneFu Completely inaccurate. There is no duty to retreat when you are in your own home. What state do you live in?

  • @MADMAN311ful

You're just a boob posting nonsense.

  • @CaneFu yea but then i dont get to have any fun

  • @MADMAN311ful

That's stupid - what's the point of even defending yourself... might as well just put the bullet in your own head and save everyone a lot of trouble.

  • @CaneFu if i ever pull a gun out and shoot sum1 and the police come to get me imma take as many of them with me as i can

  • @krayzewolf

I have wondered that too - I have never loaded smaller than a 9...but snake shot might at make an interesting deterrent - especially if you shot the intruder in the face!

  • @CaneFu Lots of folks don't plan on bullet momentum, or that as a gun owner we are held responsible for where our bullets hit as well.

But on a side note, I wonder what a AA-12 would do with a drum of bird shot. LMFAO!

  • @krayzewolf

    "bird (shot) is better"

As least someone in here is thinking about liability. Most of these idiots in here think they have a right to use a bazooka with no legal ramifications. Actually a .410 shotgun loaded with bird-shot has the stopping power of a .44 magnum at close range and almost all self defense shoots in the home are 10 feet or less. I have an arsenal of any weapon I want and my first choice is a .410 pistol grip shotgun loaded with bird-shot for home defense.

    "fuk u and the police'

NO, the police will fuck YOU if you go blasting away like a vigilante. I didn't make the laws, I am just the messenger. Pull out your shotgun loaded with 00 buck and shoot someone in the city and you WILL do time in prison. All these people posting videos, showing off their shotguns for home defense, are complete idiots that have no understanding of the law.
