@macwaynester If Nickelback gets sacrificed I think its worth it. Its time to accept that the UK has a monopoly on music. And stop pretending its governments job to fund the arts.

Two party eh? The Liberals weren't right so the Conservatives must be?
$45KK was cut from arts and culture by Harper. In Montreal 2,500 people gathered in protest, and a spokesperson for the Alliance for Arts and Culture said similar action is planned for Vancouver.
Clueless?
Regarding accountability, I'm still wondering about the $2.1KK settlement that Mulroney pocketed in the largest civil suit in Canadian history. A manager's $30KKK annual defecit for 11 years wasn't Order of Canada material

@macwaynester Really? The Federal Government has made more cuts than the Liberals in transfers to provinces in Education, Social Services and Health?
Too funny. If you are going to make stuff up have some sense to ask Kevin Page PBO to back up your anti-Harper tirade.
Clearly you are clueless about a) $ 25 Billion cut by LPOC, 400 million cut to CBC, Supreme Court ruling against the Liberals regarding the EI taxation.

While having a head of state who sings and plays an instrument is rare, a head of state who isn't a hypocrite is even more so. Harper has made fairly recent cutbacks to cultural programs including music in the schools which indicates children of Canada in the future will be able to do math, write, but have no appreciation of music. The former will provide good jobs the government will reap taxation from, but future kd lang's, Jann Arden's, Nickleback's, and others sacrificed. Hypocrite!!!

Pffff. The only thing Stephen Harper gets high on is his own fascist authority... F**k him!!!
-
But he could give him a shout-out or something in a speech. Like, let him know he thinks he's a good guy and he understands the laws are outdated and at least he's trying to do something to help. It's embarrassing to have these laws. Like the thing about anal sex in some states. You sure wouldn't want to live there, right?
-
No he cannot, because in Canada we have something called the "rule of law" which means that the Prime Minister isn't allowed to arrest (or free) convicted criminals on a whim. Marc Emery's case will have to go through the appropriate channels (ie. the courts) if you wish to free him.

i imagine much comedy and perody may come from this if it gets to a larger attention
I agree ozgood69, this isn't the video for political venting. It doesn't matter who it is, if another politician decided to play an instrument well, I would completely respect that. As an amateur pianist, it isn't easy singing and playing in rhythm.
Very well done Mr.Harper.

I have heard worse versions of Beatle tunes from professionals. As an amateur, I am impressed.
