'Back' is another useful and usually simple command to teach. This instructs your dog to take a few steps back, for example moving away from an open door, or an object such as dropped food, broken glass, or yourself. It can be used in conjunction with the 'Here' command to get your dog into a precise position. Like most of APAW's videos, the focus of our training is directed towards future assistance dogs.
We encourage you to film your dog performing this command and submit a video response - we'd love to see your dog having fun with new commands!
If you need training advice specific to your situation send a message, or email us at training@AmericanPoodlesAtWork.org

Thank you!
I love your training videos! I'm a puppy raiser/volunteer SD trainer for a small school in Oregon but worked with standard poodles in training to be guide dogs and love the breed! It's very cool to see poodles doing the commands/tasks that the SDit I have currently is learning/performing! Thanks for sharing how you train the poodles!
