Can you use them together, but have them playing different area's? Im trying to find videos of someone using both to play music with, but i also want to see what's happening in Ableton... i cant make up my mind as to which one i want so i'm considering getting both to use together, but i'm worried about them clashing??

Oh yeh, I use both in the studio, it's great to be able to launch 16 different clips independently when in session view.

How long is the usb cables of both machines?

and What software do you get with them? I recently are instressted in ableton its an amazing software program i'm using reason flstudio and pro tools...anyway can you help me out??

The USB with the APC was quite small actually (about 0.5 metres) the Lauchpad's was about 1m, although I wouldn't let the length of the included USB cable be a deal breaker ;-)

Both controllers come with a light version of Ableton Live, you can get a comparison of features on the Ableton website. Plus it's cheaper to upgrade to a full version of Live from a light version.

Is all the functionality for the LaunchPad built into Ableton now in 8.0.8 or is Automap required as well?  I have to say, I really can't stand the Automap software, it's the only thing that kept me from utilizing the Nocturn more.

Hi, yes the Launchpad communicates with Ableton straight out of the box with no need for Automap.

Is it possible to use both controllers whilst playing music? Just have them running different areas? Maybe if you do a video of playing them music with them together....and showing whats happening in Ableton......i cant make up my mind which one i want to get so i thought i'd get both.

its also nie for producing...because of the device control for example....or solo, mute, rec buttons.

you could always get a different USB cable as they don't use proprietary connections. Just dont buy cables at best buy ; )

wow both these are really versatile. opportunities are endless. When the apc came out i was so close to actually getting a job so i could afford it. thank god something cheaper came out!

i have the apc and monday arrives the lounch pad...but my question is, whats the benefit of using the two controllers? thanks =)
