Footage of the movement of air across various rider's bodies at different crosswind angles.

A great visual for learning

  • The first rider's style is crap. Too much swaying side to side and he has a pout. What kind of a man has a pout?

  • Knowing how slippery disc wheels are in stand-alone WT testing, it's amazing to see how dirty (turbulent) the air flow is around the disc in real world set-up (i.e. rider actually pedaling a bike).

  • I just love how you push the back of the helmet down and the first rider ignores your hint and does what is most comfortable to him. Anyhow, this was pretty ordinary stuff. I would love to see the effects of various position changes on the flow pattern and the actual drag numbers. For instance, if the head is below the highest point of the back does an aero helmet make much difference. Or, elbows wide or narrow. Or, preying mantis or flat arms. Head up, head down. etc.

  • Soo, the denser the fog across the bike/rider the better?
