Naica Crystal Cave - Mexico 4

A team of international scientists explore a Mexican cave filled with giant crystals. With temperatures near 120 degrees Fahrenheit (48.8 Celsius), and over 80 per cent humidity, the cave is one of the deadliest environments on earth. Without specialized suits and equipment, the scientists would die in minutes. Their mission: to unlock the secrets of the mysterious ancient crystals, some of the largest ever discovered.

  • so you mean to tell me that we are searching all over the universe for new things and when we still haven't finished exploring earth itself?!

  • Discovery, please get better writers!!! As other posters have said, you spend half your time here overdramatizing the dangers, and this is time that could be better spent giving more scientific explanations. Surely there's more to say about this than, 'wow, it's hot and dangerous down there.'

  • He finishes extracting the core with seconds to spare ! Any longer, and he would be found in violation of OSHA Workplace Safety guidelines, and his company would be fined hundreds of dollars, none of which would be given to the scientist. He returns to the lab exhausted. Panting, and on the verge of unconsciousness he requests a cup of water. It is delivered to him with only moments to spare. This truly is one of the most dangerous places on earth !

  • Finding the answers is going to take a while. Being a scientist can be somehow frustrating, you will never see results immediately, they have to do research and wait many years till they find something. Anyway they only wanted to show a little bit of what they have found, wth is very interesting! ;)
